
Sam is the balance and the heart of Miyagi-Do and a key central figure in all of the rivalries, struggles, and redemptions in Cobra Kai… and she is coming to Puyallup. Please welcome our 5th cast member of Cobra Kai, Mary Mouser, to the Washington State Summer Con from June 20th through the 22nd.
Mary Mouser has an acting career spanning over two decades, Mouser has established herself as a dynamic talent, most notably as Samantha “Sam” LaRusso in the Emmy-nominated Netflix series Cobra Kai (2018–present). Her portrayal of the karate-trained daughter of The Karate Kid’s Daniel LaRusso has garnered widespread acclaim, showcasing her ability to navigate complex emotional arcs and perform intricate martial arts stunts.
Mouser’s acting journey began at age five as a photo-double for Abigail Breslin in M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs (2002). Her early career flourished with voice work, including in the Emmy-winning Me, Eloise (2006) and characters in animated films like Tarzan II (2005), Pom Poko (2005), and Dragon Hunters (2008). She also voiced Samantha McKay in the audio drama Adventures in Odyssey. Transitioning to on-screen roles, Mouser appeared in guest spots on Without a Trace, NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Monk, and Scrubs before landing recurring roles as Mia Weller in Life Is Wild (2007–2008) and Lacey Fleming in ABC’s Body of Proof (2011–2013), where she played the daughter of Dana Delany’s medical examiner.
Her television credits expanded with roles like Savannah O’Neal and Emma Reynolds in Disney’s Frenemies (2012), Sarah Lewis in The Fosters, and Karen Grant in Scandal (Season 4). Mouser also starred in films such as Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014) and A Stranger’s Heart (2007). Beyond acting, she is an advocate for diabetes awareness, sharing her journey on platforms like YouTube, and has explored interests in writing, American Sign Language, and Muay Thai.
