
Josie Bissett is an actress and model best known for her role as Jane Mancini on the iconic FOX series Melrose Place (1992–1999). A model from age 12, she moved to Japan at 16 and Hollywood at 17, launching her acting career. Her debut came in 1989 with the horror film Hitcher in the Dark, followed by a recurring role as Cara on The Hogan Family (1990–1992).
Bissett’s breakout as Jane Mancini, a fashion designer, spanned five and a half seasons, with a return for the final season and guest spots in the 2009 Melrose Place reboot. She starred as Kathleen Bowman in ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008–2013), playing the mother of Grace Bowman. She had guest appearances on shows that include Law & Order: SVU, Doogie Howser, M.D., Quantum Leap, and Fantasy Island (2021), reuniting with Melrose Place co-stars.
Josie’s extensive TV movie credits include Hallmark’s Wedding March series (2016–2021) with Jack Wagner, Christmas with Tucker (2013), Pregnant at 17 (2016), A Mother’s Instinct (2015), and I Do, They Don’t (2005). On the big screen, she debuted as Robby Krieger’s girlfriend in Oliver Stone’s The Doors (1991), followed by Book of Love (1990), Mikey (1992), and All-American Murder (1991).
