
Please welcome Cam Clarke to Puyallup for the Washington State Summer Con from June 20th through the 22nd. Cam was the original voice of Leonardo in the animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Cam is an acclaimed American voice actor and singer with a career spanning over five decades. Clarke began performing at age six on The King Family Show (1965), later appearing in numerous TV specials. His transition to voice acting in the 1980s marked the start of a prolific career, with over 400 credited roles across animation, video games, and commercials.
Clarke is best known for voicing Leonardo and Rocksteady in the iconic 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series (1987–1996), captivating audiences with his versatile performances. He gained further recognition as Shotaro Kaneda in the 1989 English dub of Akira and as Liquid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series, showcasing his ability to portray complex characters. His work as Max Sterling and Lancer in Robotech (1985) remains a cult favorite among anime fans. Clarke also voiced He-Man in the 2002 reboot of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, cementing his status in iconic franchises.
His Disney contributions include serving as Simba’s singing voice in The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride (1998) and taking over the role from Matthew Broderick in various spin-offs. Other notable roles include Freddy the Ferret in Barnyard (2006) and its spin-off series, Kratos Aurion in Tales of Symphonia, and male Corrin in Fire Emblem Fates. Clarke’s video game credits span World of Warcraft, Assassin’s Creed II, Final Fantasy XIII, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, among others.
With a voice ranging from youthful to commanding, Clarke has also narrated series like Flip That House (2005–2007) and voiced characters in Monster High, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
