It is a 3-day event held each year in June in Puyallup at the Washington State Fair and Events Center. It has been a convention where we get to celebrate each of our unique passions and fandoms that bring us joy. Summer Con began with toy collectors selling their inventory and then the show added comic books and art dealers. Soon, the show began to host legendary and current Comic Book Creators along with Celebrities from blockbuster movies and hit television shows. The show now brings voice actors who have given us some of the most famous animation, video games, and anime characters of all time.
In 2018, our friends from the Washington National Guard brought some of their unique toys to display including a Black Hawk helicopter, armored Strykers, robots, and even Artillery guns to add to the static displays. Still not satisfied that year, we found a Batmobile, the actual Optimus Prime semi truck used in the Transformers movies, a DeLorean ready to time-travel, a Ninja Turtle wagon, and even a full-size Rancor Beast from Star Wars to bring to the show.
Summer Con is a collection of over 250 vendors, artists, exhibitors, prop builders, crafters, streamers, podcasters, gamers, and experts who set up at the convention to sell their products, teach, and meet the thousands of people who enter the Convention. Hundreds of attendees come dressed in their favorite costumes as photographers and attendees rush to get photos. Celebrity Guests now fly in from across the country, Europe, and from across the Pacific to meet their fans, sign autographs, take pictures, and speak at panels.
The Washington State Summer Con is FUN and it is different each year. It is built for families, young nerds, and older ones. Summer Con is built for people who are looking for something extra special in the Puget Sound area. Assuming AI or ChatGPT could write a better answer to the question, so when the words can’t do the show justice…
